Legacy Keepsake Workshop

A Legacy Book is an expressive process using art and writing to explore these very questions. A spacious way of using your creativity to unfold your stories, wishes or lessons learned. It is an embellished keepsake to hold the many facets of your life and legacy. Not a memoir, but a process of reconnecting with our stories, memories, lessons learned and the blessings of our lives.

Designed for everyone, no matter what your expertise as an artist or writer, the Legacy Keepsake process will help you to unearth and understand the essential pieces of your life. Create an invaluable glimpse of who you are to those who come after. Creative mediums can include: art, prose, poetry, storytelling, life’s ephemera and mythmaking.

  • Creating a Personal Legacy Keepsake

At the workshop we will:

  • • Start the workshop by brainstorming Legacy Keepsake project ideas.
    • Create our Legacy Keepsake portfolio/album covers with handmade papers.

    • Use a variety of writing structures to capture life “snapshots,” including: the short paragraph, vignette, letter, mini memoir, poem, embellished lists, narrative, anecdote, etc..

    • We will then combine various art techniques to embellish our writing pages including: collage, personal mapping, water colors, ink, and more.

Themes of exploration include:

Personal wisdom, family, work, nature, adventures, values, joy/humor, religion/spirituality, guidelines for living, to name just a few.
